How we work

eyeo colleagues are based all over the world. We practice agile and work in distributed, cross-functional teams that span nearly every timezone. Many of our tech teams prefer to work asynchronously.

After your morning coffee, you'll be expected to...

  • Develop new features, using mainly your Java skills, but with some bits of C++ and Python
  • Dive deep into a large code base to integrate new features or optimize performance while striving for high ad-blocking quality
  • Keep up with changes related to Chromium versions and integrate our existing features into a complex code base
  • Ensure the stability of our product via automated tests, code reviews and collaboration with your QA colleagues
  • Review your colleagues merge requests and think of ways to improve our code quality

What you bring to the table...

  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Extensive experience in Java and a deep understanding of the Android platform
  • Always keen to learn new technologies and programming languages
  • Experience developing and unit testing mobile applications, ideally Android native
  • The motivation to familiarize yourself with a large and complex code base and a highly customized build process.
  • Experience designing the architecture of software components
  • Understanding of how the web technically works
  • Continuous Integration at least as a user (bonus for having set up CI pipelines)
  • Knowledge of the Git version control system
  • Familiarity with agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc)
  • Proactive problem solver with a good attitude
  • Fluent in both verbal and written English

It's awesome, but not required, if you have...

  • Knowledge about Kotlin, Python, C++ or other programming languages
  • Understanding of browser internals, ideally Chromium
  • Understanding of the ad tech landscape
  • Experience using and creating Docker containers
  • Remote work experience
